Thank you for your question, Russell! Jesus Himself gives the
answer to your question:
Matthew 7:22–23 Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?" And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!"
I learn a few things in this text:
1.) There are people who claim to know Jesus at the Second Coming, as they say, "Lord, Lord".
2.) These same people have "prophesied", "cast out demons", and "done many wonders" in Jesus' name.
3.) Jesus "never knew" them. Even though they did miracles, they were not actually following Jesus.
4.) The reason Jesus never knew them is because they "practice lawlessness". They are lawbreakers.
5.) "Lawbreakers" are told by Jesus, "...depart from Me".
When I put these things together, I learn that Jesus will destroy lawbreakers, regardless of what they have supposedly done for Him. Instead, God requires an attitude of obedience. Adam and Eve disobeyed in one small command, and it led to all the suffering we have today. If someone refuses to keep God's law, they will disobey in other ways.
Paul and James tell us what law we should keep:
Romans 13:9–10 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
James 2:10–12 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.
The 10 Commandments is the law that God expects us to keep, summarized in the 2 Great Commandments. This includes the Sabbath. But this is not an arbitrary decision by God. If someone refuses to keep one of the commandments, they will break others just as Adam and Eve did. If someone breaks the Sabbath, they will eventually break other commandments. That is why we must obey God perfectly: if we don't, sin will ruin us and others.
Russell, I pray that this is helpful to you. Take care and God bless!

KELLY AND NEW QUESTIONS
To Jensen Ruud,
Amazing Facts, 12-5-15, Saturday
Russell Kelly: I
asked you for a concise clear “yes” or “No” answer whether Jesus will kill
Sunday worshi8ppers when He returns, and you responded with a list of texts.
That is the kind of subterfuge that conned me into the SDA church and also
helped me get out of it. I assume the answer to my question is “yes” – Jesus
will kill non-Sabbath-keepers when He returns.
1. The SDA church does not teach that
sanctification means sinlessness, or sinless attainment. You are not teaching SDA doctrine.
2. SDAs do not use the word “practice, work, do”
(Greek: ergozomai, Strong’s 2038) to mean sinless attainment. It refers to
“habitual” lifestyle. Therefore you are in error.
3. We all continue to sin (though not
habitually) until Christ returns. Rom 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short
[husterountai: present tense] of the glory of God.”
The second half of
the verse is in the present tense. I
received 18 semester hours of Greek in an SDA college.
1 Cor 15:54-56 “So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.?
4. Sinless
attainment, or the righteousness of the law, cannot save anybody. Phil 3:9 “And
be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but
that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by
faith.”
5. You err by basing
salvation of the sinless attainment of sanctification rather than justification
by faith. In 1 Corinthians 3:15 the
justified believer is still saved even though his works are not lasting. 1 Cor 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned,
he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
6. Finally, YOU are a Sabbath-breaker and,
according to your own logic, will not be saved.
Ex 20:10 “But the
seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy
daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger
that is within thy gates.”
Deut 5:14 “But the
seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy
daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass,
nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy
manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.”
YOU break the Sabbath
when you cause others to work on the Sabbath by:
Driving a vehicleTurning on the water faucet
Using electricity in any manner
Using the telephone
Heating with natural gas from the city
Washing dishes; they killed the man who picked up sticks
HYPOCRITE comes to my mind here concerning you.
Another question
please:
How does the same
blood of Jesus both defile the heavenly sanctuary and also cleanse it?
How do the sins of
the Roman Empire and Roman Catholic Church defile the heavenly sanctuary if
only confessed and forgiven sins defile it?
Does the question of
Daniel 8:13 include the sins of pagan and papal Rome?
How does Daniel 8:14
answer the question of Daniel 8:13?

Russel, I have no ill
will against you. Put simply, I do not debate. My experience is that debates
push people further from God and His love. Therefore, I will not reply to your
email, nor any future email attempting to debate with Amazing Facts. If you
have questions or want to share what great things God has done in your life,
you are free to ask and tell =).

Amazing Facts is the
premiere Seventh-day Adventist media program. According to SDAs, the entire
earth depends upon SDAs to bring the “truth” about the Sabbath to everybody
before Jesus can return. Yet they refuse to go two sessions of dialog and a
non-Adventist asking questions.
I am 71 and have
NEVER had a Seventh-day Adventist knock on my door to introduce me to their
doctrines. Mormons? Yes. JWs? Yes. SDAs? No. At this rate Jesus will never
return!!!
