Muslims, Slavery and Congresswoman Omar

Muslims have always been slave traders and sellers since the days of the Prophet Muhammed himself and the battle of Badr described in the Quran. Many slaves which came to the Americas were purchased from Muslms.

Therefore, why, why, why has not the current push to remove slave-owners from good status not come down hard on Muslims in congress like Omar?

Even today Muslims in East Africa and throughout war-torn parts of Africa are still capturing and selling their opponents into slavery.
